Descrição: We appreciate the work by Bertini et al, which reported the independent relationship between reduced periinfarct zone longitudinal strain (LPSS) and ventricular tachycardia (VT) inducibility on electrophysiologic study in patients with chronic ischemic cardiomyopathy. Although the results have been described in detail, there are still some concerns worth discussing in advance. First, we notice that the prolonged QRS duration is seen in the VT inducible group at baseline, which possibly represents more patients with left or right bundle branch block in that group. Accordingly, the proportions of the location of infracted myocardium may be different between these 2 groups. As a result, the comparisons of LPSS at different periinfarct zones are debatable.
