It was approved by the Commission of Consumer Protection, said on Wednesday (16), Bill 7017/10, which exempts the patient from payment of medical consultations, in cases of recurrence within 30 days to present results of examentes.

The proposal by Mr Marçal Filho (PMDB-MS), also exempt from all cases of recurrence within 15 days upon a written statement to the patient. Under the bill, the period may be longer at the discretion of the physician.

It was recommended by the rapporteur, Mr Roberto Brito (PP-BA), the approval of the proposal with two amendments. The first reduced from 60 to 30 days the deadline set in the original text. The very long term can be detrimental to the patient, as this could cause a postponement of the exams, delaying the start of treatment.

The second amendment offenders subject to the penalties provided for in Article 56 of the Consumer Defense Code (Law 8078/90). Penalties range from fines to suspension or revocation of the license.

A committee of Social Security and Family and Constitution and Justice and Citizenship will also analyze the project, that deal was deemed conclusive.
