The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV / AIDS (UNAIDS) launched on Monday (23), a report that shows the progress in the fight against the virus.

Last year, the total number of new HIV infections among adults and children was 2.3 million, a decrease of 33% since 2001. In the same period, infections among children fell 52%.
