The first state in the country to receive ongoing training in Palliative Care, sponsored by the Ministry of Health in partnership with Samaritan Hospital (São Paulo) and the State Department of Health (SES), Pernambuco gathered 150 professionals working in primary care network, home , hospitals and referral services in the area.

Only three groups will be formed in Brazil.

According to the Technical Department of Primary Health Ministry, Alyne Melo, the distance learning course, funded by the federal and lasting ten months, focuses qualified professionals in order to build a network of care palliative care in the state.

According to the superintendent Social Responsibility Samaritan Hospital, Luiz Maria Ramos, a philanthropic institution is recognized for its expertise in the subject and qualified by MS as a hospital of excellence.
