The Resolução 87/2013, the Regional Council of Medicine of the State of Goiás (Cremego), published on March 21 in the Official State Gazette, prohibits the participation of medical discount programs for medical fees.

The new resolution, already in place, considers that the agreement between doctors and business card discounts the medical procedure is being linked as a prize from a commercial transaction, where third parties for the purpose of profit, exploiting medical work.

According to the resolution, the participation of doctors in this system characterizes illicit ethical. This discount program participation had already been banned by the Federal Medical Council, through Resolution 1649/2002, which forbade the accession of the so-called medical discount cards.

<b> Complaints and inspection led to the approval of the measure </ b>

Considering complaints received and, especially, the checks performed by your Tax Department, the Cremego found that the practice of discount schemes and / or medical services fidelizações still occurs frequently in Goiás

Faced with this problem, we found the need to issue a resolution to prohibit any and all existing species and that may exist, practices related to discounts and / or retention of medical services, said the president of Cremego, Solomon Rodrigues Filho.

He noted that at the time of issue of the resolution of CFM expression discount card was virtually the only name given to systems off. But, according to the president, with the passage of time, the illegal practice was gaining new denominations such as loyalty card, health card, family card, the subscriber card, benefit card, advantage card, card partnership, etc.. Denominations that express the same practices of discount schemes prohibited by the Board of Medicine, said Solomon Rodrigues Filho, who hopes the new resolution Cremego put an end to this practice in Goiás
