Launch of Electronic Petitioning System Notification Foods, which brings together a unique database of food products free of sanitary registration
Dirceu Barbano Brás, CEO of the National Agency for Sanitary Vigilance and (ANVISA), José Agenor, director of ANVISA

In celebration of World Food Day, the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) launched on Tuesday (16), an electronic registry for food products sold in Brazil, free of sanitary registration. On registration, manufacturers must report the details of the composition of each of the foods they sell. The measure will facilitate the monitoring of Anvisa as quality assurance.

The so-called Electronic Petitioning Notification Exempt Food Health Records is intended for products that do not require sanitary registration - those that are not intended for children, who do not have any new component or not using a new manufacturing technology.

This will make it easier for Sanitary Vigilance, during the inspection, differentiate a product from a clandestine legalized product, which underwent an inspection. With that also promotes the products that are legalized, explains the general manager of food Anvisa, Denise Resende.

Registration will begin to be tested within 15 days. After the testing period, the industries will have two years to notify the products.
