National Program for Tobacco Control launches distance learning course in PR

The National Programme for Tobacco Control, coordinated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), launched on Thursday (16), the pilot of the Distance Learning Course Learn Health in Curitiba (PR). Divided into five modules, the course is available online platform and offers 250 vacancies for professionals in the state schools of Parana.

The course is the result of partnerships with state departments of Health and Education of Paraná and will take place from September to November. The modality will in future be extended to other states.

The content addresses the risk factors for developing chronic diseases, among them cancer, like tobacco and alcohol, excessive exposure to solar radiation and other issues. Upon completion of 60 hours, participants receive a certificate issued by INCA.

The Saber Healthcare is one of the actions of the National Tobacco Control, Coordination of Tobacco Control and Other Risk Factors INCA and aims to train citizens capable of resisting the social pressures in a conscious way, who can preserve the health having for a better quality of life. It is intended for elementary schools from public or private. Developed in 27 states since 1998 has trained 7,951 schools.
