Health Network of Rio promotes actions in World Diabetes Day

Program seeks to raise awareness and fight the disease that affects 14 million Brazilians and 370 million worldwide

Because of World Diabetes Day (14/11), units of the Department of Health organized a program of events to raise awareness and fight the disease, which affects about 14 million Brazilians and 370 million people worldwide. Among the activities are breakfast, blood tests to detect diabetes and lectures with professional guidance for patients and the general public seeking help in disease prevention.

On Wednesday, 13/11, the State Institute for Diabetes and Endocrinology Luiz Capriglione (Iede) prepared a surprise at the outpatient diabetes unit. Around 10am, children's theater students of the institute, patients and staff organized a flashmob with a jingle created especially to date. In addition, the unit promotes lectures this week with the themes What is diabetes?, By monitoring blood glucose, the snack in school and take care of your emotions.
