Women's Hospital turns reference in treating premature

The Women's Hospital Heloneida Studart in St. John Meriti in Baixada Fluminense, is the first public to rely on the Mother House of the space is dedicated to women while infants are in care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit .

The state hospital is intended to mothers who live over 50 miles away, or in hard to reach places. The space ensures direct contact and breastfeeding, important for the development of the baby.

Opened in 2010, the Women's Hospital has performed over 11,000 births. It has 27 beds distributed in ICU `s neonatal, pediatrics and nursing. At the unit, mothers have access to basic examinations during pregnancy, in addition to tests necessary for the baby after birth.
