More 2000 Cuban doctors arrive in Brazil this week

In addition to the 2000 Cuban doctors with the 149 diploma from abroad who were selected for the second phase of the More Doctors begin the assessment module on the 7th. Classes take place in Distrito Federal, Fortaleza, Belo Horizonte and Vitória.

In the first phase of the More Doctors, 400 Cuban doctors arrived in Brazil and have gone through the training course and assessment. The forecast of the Ministry of Health is to bring to the country by the end of the year, 4000 Cuban doctors. These professionals come to Brazil through an agreement brokered by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).

As physicians with a degree from abroad who have registered individually, Cubans who come by according to PAHO does not need to go through revalidation (Revalidation of Doctors Diplomas dispatched by Higher Education Institutions) and therefore will have provisional registration for three years to work in primary care and validity restricted to the site where they are assigned.
