From 30 December 2012 to 30 March 2013, 91 000 were confirmed dengue cases throughout the state of Goiás In memos period last year, this index was around 11,000. The figures show an increase of 704.96% in dengue cases. Data are from Boletim Epidemiológico the State Department of Health, released earlier this afternoon Thursday, April 4.
Goiânia already has confirmed 42,020 cases and continues to lead the ranking. In the order, the cities with the largest number of cases are Aparecida de Goiânia (7202), Itumbiara (5252), Green River (4252), Annapolis (2826), Trinity (2216), Porangatu (1,414), Senator Canedo (1353) , Jatai (1,275) and miners (973).
Seven deaths have been confirmed and another 51 remain under investigation. The suspicious deaths occurred in Goiania (16), Senator Canedo (04), Aparecida de Goiânia (03), Annapolis (03), Serranópolis (02), Pirenópolis (02), Jatai (02), Aguas Lindas (02), Trinity , São Luís de Montes Belos, St. Anthony's Discovered, Piracanjuba, Petrolina, Miners, Iporá, Ipameri, Edealina, Cocalzinho, Ceres, Campinorte, Bonfinópolis, Arowana and Abadia de Goiás, each with a suspicious death.
Of the 246 municipalities in Goiás, 158 were classified as high risk; another 55 were rated medium risk, 26 were considered low risk and only 7 did not present data on the disease and, therefore, were classified as silent municipalities
