The 5th National March for Life Citizenship, held on the afternoon of Tuesday (26) in the Ministries, protested against abortion and advocated the adoption of Bill 478/2007, known as the Statute of the Unborn. The march was an initiative of non-governmental organization (NGO) National Movement of Citizens for Life - Brazil Without Abortion and had the support of various organizations and associations, or not linked to religious matters.

According to former Deputy Luiz Bassuma, author of the bill, the Brazilian Constitution defends life, but does not determine at what time it starts. The Status of the Unborn solve this problem because defend life from the moment of conception.

To Bassuma, there are still questions about the legalization of abortion because of international groups, based on the idea of birth control, leading Brazilian sectors such as some feminist organizations, to support abortion methods.

According to Jaime Ferreira, vice president of national NGOs Brazil Without Abortion, women who suffer rape need to understand that they are not forced to abort. Ferreira also says that the argument that every woman owns her body can not exclude the option of keeping the pregnancy. I think she is entitled to his own body. Just do not think she has the right to the body of another, it carries within itself.

Rachel Farias, voluntary Sports Association Class Rat, thinks the issue of abortion in cases of rape is more delicate. For her, the termination of pregnancy could happen only in early pregnancy before the fetus has a heart. Still, Rachel believes that supporting abortion is to support a murder.

The Bill 478/2007 remains pending before the House of Representatives. It is the Committee on Finance and Taxation and then goes to the Committee on Constitution and Justice.
