Health Minister announces thousand new beds in the health care system in Porto Alegre

The new jobs will be created by 2014 and the distribution of beds between the health units of the municipality is still under study

The Health Minister, Alexandre Padilha, announced on Friday (9), in Porto Alegre, opening a thousand new beds by 2014 SUS. The distribution of seats among the health units of the municipality is under study.

The partnership between the three levels of management was also highlighted by the capital's mayor, José Fortunati. "The terms we have signed today further qualify our relationship with the Ministry of Health and the state government and show that public health is a priority of our government."

To the Minister of Health, the signing of a commitment to the consolidation of integrated networks of health is the beginning of a change in the model of care SUS. "We must go beyond isolated initiatives through networks of health care to act in an integrated, organized from SUS users' needs," he said.
